Frequently asked questions
How many iron rods do I need for a 3-bedroom house?
A typical 3-bedroom single-storey house in Ghana requires between 3 and 5 tons of iron rods in total, across all sizes. The exact quantity depends on your structural drawings, the number of floors, your foundation design, and soil conditions. Do not estimate this yourself — your quantity surveyor or structural engineer should give you a precise bill of quantities from your approved drawings. Underordering causes delays; overordering wastes money.

What is the difference between mild steel and high-tensile iron rods?
Mild steel rods are the standard choice for most Ghanaian residential builds — easier to bend on site and less expensive. High tensile rods are stronger, with a higher yield strength, and are used where structural loads are significantly greater: commercial buildings, tall structures, and infrastructure. Your structural engineer's drawings will specify which grade your project requires. If you are unsure, always confirm with your engineer before ordering.
How are iron rods sold — by piece, bundle, or ton?
We sell iron rods both per piece and in bulk by the ton. For small repairs or additions, per-piece ordering is convenient. For full building projects, buying by the ton is significantly more cost-effective. Call us with your quantities, and we will give you the best available rate for your order size.
How long are the rods?
Standard iron rod length in Ghana is 9 metres (30 feet) per rod for mild steel. High tensile rods are available in lengths of about 12 metres (40 feet). If your site requires a specific length, contact us before ordering.
Can I order in advance and collect later?
Yes, call us to confirm stock availability, place your order, and agree on a collection or delivery date. For large orders, we recommend confirming at least 48 hours in advance to ensure we have your full requirements ready.
